TMS570LS3137: VCC slew rate recommandation and impact

Part Number: TMS570LS3137

Hi,

is there any recommandation for the slew rate of the core voltage of Vcc ? Looking into the data sheet I can find under 5.4 (page 42) I can only a max value for VCCIO,VCCAD and VCCP , which is 1V/us.

Does VCC have the same slew rate recommandation or is there any impact of that slew rate in the device ?

Thank you and  best regards

  • Hello OZ,

We don't have specific requirement for VCC slew rate. Hercules has a built in module called VMON (voltage monitor module). The voltage monitor generates the Power Good MCU signal (PGMCU) as well as the I/Os Power Good IO signal (PGIO) on the device. During power-up or power-down, the PGMCU and PGIO are driven low when the core or I/O supplies are lower than the specified minimum monitoring thresholds. The PGIO and PGMCU being low isolates the core logic as well as the I/O controls during the power-up or power-down of the supplies. This allows the core and I/O supplies to be powered up or down in any order.

  • Hi QJ,

thanks for your answer. So If I understand correctly it would be also ok to  have slew rate greater than 1V/s for VCC, right ?

That would basically mean there is no sequencing for the I/O supplies ?

    Thanks and best regards,

    Oz
