TM4C123GH6PM: TM4C123GH6PM USB device does not appear on the device manager (windows 10) at all when using any usb_dev example

Part Number: TM4C123GH6PM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: EK-TM4C123GXL

Hello,

I've been trying to figure the usb connectivity but Windows 10 does not detect the Tiva C at all when set to USB Device. It can be programmed when in the Debug mode, that's not a problem. Moreover, the green PWR LED is on in both modes. When connected, there's no "usb sound" that is heard when connected in debug mode. I have installed TivaWare and I do have the USB bulk example program installed as well. Any ideas?

  • Update: I was using the examples for the wrong board. I was thinking that since the chips on the board say TM4C123GH6PM, I assumed that I am to use the examples files for dk-tm4c123g. After looking at the cover of my TIva box, I found out that while I do have a TM4C123G, I actually have ek-tm4c123gxl and the TIva gets detected now. So yea, I guess if someone runs into the same issue, remember to double check what hardware you have and not be an idiot like me. Have a nice day.
