TM4C1294NCPDT: Brown out reset on TM4C1294

Part Number: TM4C1294NCPDT

On Page 260, PTBOCTL register, VDD_UBOR's reset value is 0x3, or RESET

On Page 224, "If a brown-out condition is detected, the system may generate an interrupt, a system reset or a Power-On Reset. The default value at reset is to generate an interrupt."

I use CCS to look at the register after reset, it seems to agree with the first one, 0x3 or RESET

So the micro will always reset when Vdd is below 2.86 unless we change it, correct?

Thanks for reply!

  • Hi David,

Your understanding is correct that by default a BOR event will reset the device.

The application can identify the type of BOR event that occurred by reading the Power-Temperature

Cause (PWRTC) register. The BOR detection circuits can be programmed to generate a reset,

System Control interrupt, or NMI in the Power-Temp Brown Out Control (PTBOCTL) register.

The default settings at reset are as follows:

    ■ VDDA under BOR detection default setting is for no action to occur.

    ■ VDD under BOR detection default setting is to execute a full POR.
