TMS570LC4357: SPNU540A - HET5A - Boot Time Software Test of Function Using I/O Loopback

Part Number: TMS570LC4357

Hi all,

please may you confirm or correct my following conclusion regarding the safety manual feature HET5A:

TRM SPNU563A describes

  1. 23.2.5.7 Loop Back Mode: The loop back feature can be used by the application to monitor an N2HET output signal.
  2. 23.2.5.7 Loop Back Mode - NOTE: The pin that is not driven by the N2HET output pin actions can still be used as normal GIO pin.

Does it imply that the loopback is usable (applicable) only if HET-related pins are configured in the functional mode? In other words,  if HET-related pins are used as normal GIO pins the HET loopback test cannot be executed?

Oops, I've just checked TRM SPNU563A - Figure 23-11. HR I/O Architecture and that seems to be testable / usable also with the GIO mode.

Thanks for your clarification, probably I've missed some detail in the documentation....

Best regards, Jiri
