TMS570LS0332: Need for series current limiting resistor

Couple questions from my customer:

Is the TMS570LS0332 compatible with the NDK NX8045GB-20.000000MHZ?

TI does not show a series current limiting resistor in the oscillator circuit, but some crystal manufacturers recommend it; is there a good way to determine whether a series resistance would be beneficial?

Hi Viktorija,

From the datasheet, the series resistor is not required. For the oscillator configuration used inside the hercules device, crystal overdriving is not a common problem.
