TMS570LS3137: Not able to access Flash

I am sorry I don't quite understand the question. You cannot read from the same Flash memory bank that is being programmed or erased. You should be able to execute from or read (data fetch) from bank 1 when erasing or programming bank 0.

Let me explain it:
We configured flash bank 0 of size 1 MB and programmed image into flash bank 0 with 500 KB. Now, if we are trying to access beyond 500KB, we are not able to read it and getting exceptions. Can you look into this?

Hi Sreenivasan,

What exceptions are you getting? Data aborts? You don't need flash API calls to read from flash memory. Can you check the MPU settings? They may have been configured to only allow access to the first 512KB.

Hi Sunil,

We haven't enabled any MPU settings (we haven't called mpuInit and mpu enable calls). We also tried to configure region 0 size to 4MB and given permissions like below:
_mpuSetRegion_(0);
_mpuSetRegionSizeRegister_(mpuREGION_ENABLE | MPU_4_MB);
_mpuSetRegionTypeAndPermission_(mpu_det[0].perm, MPU_PRIV_RW_USER_RO_EXEC);
Still we are not able to access complete 3MB flash for reading.

Anything specific, we need to do further?

Do you erase the entire flash bank before programming your code? Is the CPU code execution halted when you refresh this memory window?

Hi Sunil,

Yes, we erase complete flash bank (0 and 1) before programming from CCS. CPU execution is not halted when we refresh memory window.

Please find the snapshot where we are trying to access flash bank 1 and in expression window, its value is showing (???) for address 0x00180000.
Is there anything we need to do for flash access?
