TMS570LC4357: Ethernet PHY not accessible.

Hi folks

I was using a Marvell's PHY. I was able to access the PHY registers. The PHY is initialized, PHY id is read, link is up, master is set but unable to transmit data,(auto negotiation is not done as the phy is of 100base-T1 standard). The EMAC register TXOCTETS is not getting updated when transmit is done. The same code is working for on board PHY(DP83640) of HDK evaluation board.

what can be the reason.

Is the PHY clocked correctly for TX and RX? Which mode is used in your HW settings (MII, or RMII), if the configuration is consistent with your HW settings?

I am using MII, does the link status go high if not clocked properly. The link is active in my case, the PHY is an automotive 100 Base-T1 transceiver from marvell.

I don't know about Marvell's PHY. For PHY(DP83640), In MII 100Mb/s mode, the 25-Mhz reference clock is required. 50-MHz reference clock for RMII mode.

If the PHY supports internal loopback feature, you can use it for system diagnostics. To run the loopback, Auto-Negotiation should be disabled
before selecting the Loopback mode.
