TMS570LS1224: What affects the PMU measurements?

Hello,

When measuring my code with PMU, it sometimes does not measure the same number of clock cycles with no changes to the code. I know that measurements on a computer is affected by things like OS, but my code does not run an RTOS, and there shouldn't be anything affecting the measurements, at least from my code. Is there something that can affect the measurements when running on a barebone system that I am overlooking?

PS: The settings of the microcontroller are the same for each measurements

Hi Eirik,

The interrupt may affect the measurement, and the counter overflow can affect the measured cycle as well. Do you use the cycle counter, or event counters? Are you willing to share your code with us?
