TMS570LS0714: Difference between TMS570LS0714-PZ and TMS570LS0714-PGE?

Hey,

My group is currently considering switching our project from using the TMS570LS0714-PZ to the TMS570LS0714-PGE. I'm curious as to what potential impact switching the CPU might pose to the software.

Are there any registers that are moved to a new address block?
Are there any peripherals that lost between the two?
Are there any bit fields that move around in the registers?
Is there anything else that may pose an impact?

Hi Zach,

These are two part numbers for the same part, just two different packages. PZ is the designator for a 100-pin QFP while PGE is the designator for a 144-pin QFP.

All other aspects of the design stay the same, you just have more functionality with the PGE part (as more I/Os are available now).

Pay attention on Table 3-1. TMS570LS0714 Device Comparison at datasheet ( www.ti.com/.../tms570ls0714.pdf ) .
- registers are not moved;
- see Table 3-1 at device datasheet;
- bit fields are the same;
