RM46L850: JTEG programmer for production

Hi Team,

I am Henry Kwok, now supporting Harman Pro, they are working on a Stage lighting project, they selected a RM46L850 as a central processor, while they would like to know do TI had any suggestion on below questions. Thanks.

Production programmer?
Can the programmer program that support Labview control?
Can the JTEG program the whole chip internal flash memory?

Please share your advise. Thanks.

Hello Henry,

1. dataio (http://www.dataio.com/) is a nice company who supports some of our hercules devices
2. Please check with dataio if you are interest in this company
3. JTAG can be use to erase/program the whole flash. You can use JTAG to program the bootloader only, then bootloader to erase all other sectors and program data to other sectors.

Form the dataio web it only had the RM46L852CPGE support instead of RM46L850, is both chip were same?

As I said in email:

Dataio supports RM46L852PGE and RM46L852ZWT. RM46L850 is the same as RM46L852 except for the maximum CPU frequency. RM46L852’s maximum CPU frequency is 220MHz, and RM46L850’s is 200MHz. They have same flash size, SRAM size, and same architecture, and same peripherals.

1. RMS46L850PGE and RM46L852PGE are pin to pin compatible
2. RMS46L850ZWT and RM46L852ZWT are ball to ball compatible
