TMS570LS0714: DAM data transfer with SPI interrupt method

I was able to work with example_mibspiDma.c and perform data transfer. But my concern is below while loop

/* ... wait until transfer complete */
while(!(mibspiIsTransferComplete(mibspiREG1,0)))
{
};

are we not wasting processor cycles waiting for transfer to be completed ? is there notification/interrupt generated when transfer is complete so that i can call mibspiGetData to collect data received.

My Goal is to have SPI transfer completed without having to wait for data transfer to complete.

If i use while loop it will be same as using polling method, if i am wrong can you please explain me how efficient DMA transfer will be compared polling method.

7144.example_mibspiDMA.cI was going through TI forum to find a solution to my problem, i came across this example. But this is done for TMS570LC43x was wondering if you can suggest me similar approch for TMSTMS570LS12x Hercules launch pad

I was wondering if i can generate interrupt when the receive data is ready, can you please share some info on this.

I tried using FTCA DMA interrupt but did not work well for me.

My intention here is to request for data from slave and grab data as soon as it is available from Slave .
