TMS570LC4357: Special Multiplexed Controls - Temperature Sensor Select

Part Number: TMS570LC4357

Hello,

We are using the TMS570LC4357,  we would like more information about the IOMM module.

In Table 6-3 and Table 6-11 of Reference manual (spnu563a), three 'Temperature sensor' can be selected by by PINMMRx (via AD1IN[31],AD2IN[31] and AD2IN[30]

Nevertheless, in the table 4-1 of datasheet (spns195c), a note is added to describe that only AD1IN[31] is multiplexed with an internal temperature sensor.

Moreover always in the Table 4-1 of datasheet, AD2IN[31] and AD2IN[30] pins does not seem to be on the TMS570LC4357 package

Is it a mistake ? Is there more than one temeprature sensor ?

Best regards,

Christopher

  • Hello Christopher,

ADC2 has 25 external channels 0 to 24. Internally, channels 30 and 31 are used by 2 of the 3 temperature sensors.

    Best regards,

    Miro

  • Sorry but I do not understand what are internally the channels 30 and 31.
This is the ADC1 that uses the temperature sensors ?

    best regards,
    Christopher
  • Hello Christopher,
There are three instances of temperature sensors in the device. The temperature sensors are connected to a on-chip analog-to-digital converter (ADC) through the Input/Output Multiplexing Module (IOMM). Temperature sensor 1 is multiplexed with AD1IN[31]. Temperature sensor 2 is connected to AD2 channel 31. Temperature sensor 3 is connected to AD2 channel 30.

As you mentioned "Moreover always in the Table 4-1 of datasheet, AD2IN[31] and AD2IN[30] pins does not seem to be on the TMS570LC4357 package" .
AD2 channels 30/31 are not exposed on terminals but internally they exists and are used for temperature sensors.

    Best regards,
    Miro
