I am using the TIVA C series microcontroller, the problem is that my UART data register shows constantly zero value and I am not able to figure it out. Please help.

After reset by default the UART data register is all zero. Are you trying to receive a character on the UART? Have you tried one of the simple example software projects that come with TivaWare such as: C:\ti\TivaWare_C_Series-2.1.4.178\examples\boards\ek-tm4c123gxl\uart_echo ?

no when I click "browse examples" in the getting started page it shows no example such as uart_echo.

Have you down loaded TivaWare? Check to see if you have the following directory on your PC "C:\ti\TivaWare_C_Series-2.1.4.178"
