Hello,

I have a question of the diagnostic method of VIM in safety manual(SPNU511D).

Instead of VIM4 diagnostic(Periodic Hardware CRC Check of SRAM Contents), I would like to use comparing the initial value of the VIM table (s_vim_init) with the handler address in vimRAM.

Is it possible to replace the requirement of VIM4 by comparing the VIM handler address in this way?

There is also a way to change the handler address in vimRAM, but it's a premise that the initial value is not change.

Hello Mars,

Yes, the VIM4 diagnostic confirms that the ISR addresses programmed into the VIM RAM are not corrupted. You can do this by reading and comparing the configured VIM RAM to the original values in the s_vim_init array, or by using the hardware CRC module in combination with the DMA controller. This second method reduces the CPU bandwidth required for this diagnostic.
