ADS 1220 EVM ADCPRO soft is doubled with respect to the real one

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADCPRO, ADS1220, ADS1220EVM

Hello, we are using the ADS 1220 EVM board and we noticed that when we use the turbo mode in 2000 SPS the frequency shown in the ADCPRO soft is doubled with respect to the real one.
For example, the frequency of the input signal is 100 Hz and in MULTISCOPE and MULTIFFT 200 Hz is observed (that is, the value of the input frequency is doubled). If you sample at 1200 SPS, 120 Hz is observed
When the sampling rate is less than or equal to 1000 SPS, the presentation is correct, ie 100 Hz.

  • Hi Miguel,

Welcome to the E2E forum! This is an interesting observation. No one has mentioned this before in the 5+ years the ADS1220EVM plugin for ADCPro has been available. I presume this is mostly due to customers using the ADS1220 for DC measurements. AC measurements are somewhat hampered by the digital filter response which is not flat across the passband.

There is a bug apparently in the communication between the EVM plugin and the test plugin. There was some text level changes to the drop down for the Data Rate when using Turbo mode. This apparently did not change with respect of the test plugin. Unfortunately ADCPro only works reliably with Win7, so we will eventually be moving this EVM to a newer GUI. Any fixes to the ADCPro EVM plugin will not be made at this time.

    Best regards,
    Bob B
