Hi Folks,

First of all, sorry for this very bread question:

I would like to develop an application, that receives audio (speech or music) stream from a regular server trough a standard audio streaming protocol and I would like it to play it on a speaker. Can anybody help me, how can I do it?

What kind of blocks do I need?
Are the TM4C1294 products powerful enough to do such a task?
Which interface would be suitable to drive an amplifier (analog or digital input) or convert it to analog signal?

Hi Ralph,

thank for your response. According to the app note:

Is the speaker circuit good enough to produce audio quality sound? Like feeding audio amplifier with music or speech on an event (ceremony, etc)
I checked the TI portfolio and I found D class amplifiers with I2S input interface. Is it possible to drive such a system with TivaC device? (I haven't seen I2S interface directly)
I wanted to stream my audio content trough IP instead of uSD card. What do you think, are they enough powerful to receive & decode the audio?

Hello Norbert,

1) Depends on the quality you want out of it. It's not going to sound crystal clear like a smartphone, but it should be fine to play music or speech with decent quality.

2) We actually have an app note on I2S as well, I was debating linking it originally, seems I should have: www.ti.com/.../spma042b.pdf Have a look.

3) IP? Do you mean Ethernet? If so, maybe this TI design will be helpful to review: www.ti.com/.../TIDM-TM4C129POEAUDIO
