Hello,

I have a doubt regarding the trace pins available in TM4C1294KCPDT.

I would like to capture the trace information for the code in the tm4c board(custom board).

Question 1: Is it possible to get the trace information using the 10-pin JTAG connector or should i go for the 20-pin ETM+debug connector.

Question 2: If I go with the 20-pin ETM+debug connector to capture the trace information , what are the pins that can be configured for trace clock and trace data pins in the micro-controller that can be connected to the debug connector?

It would be really helpful if anyone could give an idea about this.

It would appear SWO is not included in the IDCI or debug header pins of EKXL/EVM board, SWD (ICDI) mostly produces register and memory access ability.

Cortex Trace Macrocell (TPU) appears to be a legacy function, TM4C trace pins overlap PWM module pins, datasheet 26.Signal Tables. Search for past discussion in forum suggests expensive debug probe is required.

It would seem the TPU debug access requires delicate handling, my opinion remains useless since it overlaps PWM module pins. Likewise the SWO topic discussion in datasheet appears misleading in scope!
