Hello,

There is an application report about Using the SPI as an Extra UART Transmitter SPNA234. But is it also possible to receive UART using the SPI peripheral?

I would be nice to have the possibility to have a baud rate of 2 Mbit/s with the SPI peripheral, which can not be achieved with SCI.

Hi Dann,

This application note provides a way to use SPI as UART transmitter only. It will take more effort to implement the receiver using SPI. Please check with ShivaniIyer (author of the application note) to check if it is possible to develop the receiver using the existing setup.

Hi Dann,

I am sorry. I noticed that she worked in TI as an intern. TMS570LS0432 has only 1 UART port. If you need 2 UARs, I recommend to use NHET to implement the 2nd UART.
