About TMS570 Hardware Question

Hello TI,

Currently my customer has automotive OBC project, it's design require ISO26262 and AutoSar qualified.
1. May I know TMS570 PWM can support phase shift?
2. May I know TI has refereance design on the application?

    Which device are you going to use? TMS570LS1x/LS07x/LS09x/LC43c have etPWM and NHET modules. Both modules can be used to generate PWM signals. TMS570LS3x has NHET module for PWM signal. The PWM module supports programmable phase-control support for lag or lead operation relative to other ePWM modules.

    TMS570 MCU is certified by TUV to be capable of achieving ISO 26262 ASIL D and ICE 61508 SIL 3. helping to make it easier to develop functional safety applications such as OBC, BMS. TMS570 are used by many customers for BMS, OBC, and other automotive application. I am sorry we don't have a reference design for OBC.

    The TMS570 ePWM has phase limitation? such as 45 or 90 degree etc.

    No limitation. Each ePWM module can be configured to use or ignore the synchronization input. If the TBCTL[PHSEN] bit is set, then the time-base counter (TBCTR) of the ePWM module will be automatically loaded with the phase register (TBPHS) contents when one of the following conditions occur:
    1. EPWMxSYNCI: Synchronization Input Pulse
    2. Digital Compare Event Synchronization Pulse
    3. Software Forced Synchronization Pulse

    There is compare competitor solution is Infineon AURIX™ Family TC27x and TLF35584 for μC’s safety management unit to implement ASIL-D.
    My question is below:
    1. TMS570 develop functional safety applications such as OBC, BMS need external safty unit?
    2. Looks the C28075, C28004X also has safety collateral. May I know how capable to ASIL level?
    3. How about find safty imformation and ASIL level design of TI's uC? such as UV/OV-monitoring of all rails with independent reference, detecting dependent fail­ures by flexible watchdog-concept, monitoring of μC’s safety management unit.

    TMS570 device has on-chip diagnostic features including: dual CPUs in lockstep; CPU and memory Built-In Self-Test (BIST) logic; ECC on both the flash and the SRAM; parity on peripheral memories; and loopback capability on most peripheral I/Os. We also provide comprehensive documentation, tools, and software to assist in the development of ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 functional safety applications, such as OBC, BMS, etc. Hercules are certified by TÜV SÜD to be capable of achieving ISO 26262 ASIL D and IEC 61508 SIL 3.

    Thanks for your clearly explain TMS570 status, I summary TMS570 no need add external safety management such TLF35584 implement ASIL level.
    Also C2K has any safty roadmap and certified by TÜV SÜD to be capable of achieving ISO 26262 ASIL and IEC 61508 level? Thanks again.
