TMS570LS1224: Use Bank 7 to simulate 3 separate independent FEEs on TMS570LS1224

Hi team,

Customer want to use Bank 7 to simulate 3 independent FEE individual to store different types data on TMS570LS1224, does anyone know how to do that? Are there any examples for reference? Thanks a lot.

Hi David,

No, it is not able to support 3 EEPROMs. The bank 7 on TMS570LS1224 has only 4 physical flash sectors. Each EEPROM needs at least 2 virtual sectors, and each virtual sector is mapped to 1 or more physical flash sectors.

The maximum EEPROMs supported is 2.

But BANK7 of LS0714 has 16 physical sectors. It can support 3 EEPROMs.

Hi QJ,
Oh, sorry, I know that LS0714 has 16 physical flash sectors, but I didn't notice that TMS570LS1224 just has 4. Why does LS0714 have 16 physical sectors, but reduce physical sectors on LS1224?
So if LS0714 can support 3 EEPROMs, do we have any guidance or examples?

Hello David,

Both devices have 64KB emulated EEPROM (bank 7). But LS0714 has more physical sectors (small size for each sector). I don't have example for 3 EEPROMs using LS0714.
