Hi,

I am working on TMS570LC43XX controller which is having the 83822I as a PHY chip. and i am using a MII Loopback mode for its loopback testing.But always there is uncertainty in receiving the packets.Can anyone please tell me whether it is happening because of the delay which we keep after transmitting for the correct reception. and if yes, then what could be the correct value of the delay?

Hello Kakad,

There are several loopback options within the DP83822 that test and verify various functional blocks within the PHY. MII Loopback is configured using the Basic Mode Control Register (BMCR, address 0x0000). When in MII Loopback, data transmitted from a connected MAC on the TX path is internally looped back in the DP83822 to the RX pins where it can be checked by the MAC.

TMS570LC43x EMAC support loopback. The EMAC loopback should be disabled for your testing.

Hello,

The code generated by HALCoGen uses driver for DP83640. I am not sure you can use the driver of DP83640 for DP83822.

Hello,

Please compare DP83822 and DP83640 to make sure you can use DP83640 driver for DP83822, otherwise you have to develop your own driver for DP83822.
