CCS/TMDS570LS31HDK: SPI2 master to SPI4 slave : CS0, CLK, SIMO 3 wire connection externally not talking

I neglected to mention I have altered the pinmux.c as below to use the SPI4 pins on J11.

SPI2 is connected to SD Card connector as well to J10 connector, but this is not a problem. If everything is configured properly, you should have signal on SPI2. How do you observe there is no signal on SPI2 pins?
For SPI2 you have to clear conflict in PINMUX tab in HALCoGen.
Rows, you have alter seems fine. NHET103 signal is routed via multiplexer (U43, page 15 of schematic diagram) so check whether signal is routed right by multiplexer.

Since my last post I have started again with CCS 8.2.0.00007 and HALCogen 04.07.00.

I have a similar problem however. I am trying to do an internal loopback on SPI4. My code appears to indicate that it is working but all I ever receive is zeroes.

Is there something I have missed? I attach related code.3857.sys_main.c0576.spi.c3666.pinmux.c

I have found the problem. For some reason the HALCogen generated version of spiTransmitData reads the receive buffer after transmitting.

Removing this line means there is something remaining for spiReceiveData to read:
