I have to design industrial product where i need to connect 40 slave devices from where My master controller get the data so I wish to evaluate RS485 with Modbus protocol.
I came to know that maximum I can connect 32 devices then I need to connect repeater due to signal drop with cable distance. Here I want to clarify that my slave devices will be placed very near and also near to master controller (not more than 300 meter). I wish to use TI MCU in slave and any Sitara series processor for Master.
Could you clarify below points?
1. As you know that distance is not high between devices so can I connect upto 40-42 slave devices on same Bus of RS485 modbus? If no than My Idea to use two RS485 at Master controller to manage two block of slave devices i.e. 1-32 devices using one RS485 and 33-42 devices using second RS485, Does it feasible or any issues in this?
2. Please suggest If any better solution with you.
