TM4C1290NCPDT: AIN14/15 and AIN6/7 Odd Behavior

Part Number: TM4C1290NCPDT

Customer is a long time user of TM4C devices and on a new design they are observing that AIN14 and AIN15 are tracking each other (nearly identical values) even when they pull down one input and pull up the other to VREF.  They observe the same behavior on AIN6 and AIN7 but not on other AIN inputs  I asked them to confirm their GPIODEN and AMSEL register setting.

Anything else to check or suggestion? Did not see anything in the errata, I am thinking it is a software/setup issue.

  • Have them describe the source impedance of the signals driving those ADC inputs. If the source impedance is too high and the sample time too short, the internal sample capacitor will not be able to change to the new voltage in time for the next conversion.
