Hi,

I need to use dvr8848 boost motor drive withthe Hercules LaunchPad, but the pins in not compatible, so I'm trying to make it compatible by changing the pin's function using software.

In boost layout, it needs adc pin at pin 5 and pwm pins at pins 9 and 10. But in Launch pad, these pins are AD2EVT and enhanched timer pins respectively.

Can I change these pin functions from their default to ADC and PWM.

Hello,
Using pinmux, ball V10 can be set as MIBSPI3NCS[0]/AD2EVT/eQEP1I;
Using pinmux, ball P1 can be set as N2HET1[24]/MIBSPI1NCS[5]/MII_RXD[0]/RMII_RXD[0];
Using pinmux, ball A14 can be set as N2HET1[26]/MII_RXD[1]/RMII_RXD[1];
Using pinmux, ball F3 can be set as MIBSPI1NCS[1]/MII_COL/N2HET1[17]/eQEP1S;
Using pinmux, ball G3 can be set as MIBSPI1NCS[2]/MDIO/N2HET1[19];

Options for pinmux can be found in device Datasheet: www.ti.com/.../spns195c.pdf

You can make your own adapter board that remap pins or you can use wires to connect compatible pins of two boards.

Thanks for your answer, but I have a question about it.

PINS P1 A14 F3 G3 are needed to be pwm pins, but in data sheet pin function they are N2HET1 - enhanced timer pins- and other functions

Does N2HET1 pin work as pwm? Or I need to make a matching pcb?

Yes, N2HET1 can be used for generating PWM signal.
There is application note about this as well: www.ti.com/.../spna225.pdf
This AN describes generating PWM using HALCoGen.
You can write your own code as well using HET IDE: http://www.ti.com/tool/HET_IDE
