In the following screenshot, it is the example code for ADC for Hercules RM57Lx LaunchPad from HALCoGen.

What does the statement "value = adc_data[0].value" give exactly??

Each ADC conversion result includes a 12-/10-/8-bit conversion result along with the channel id for which the result belongs. This composite value is returned as part of the adc_data structure. The statement value = adc_data[0].value gets the conversion result from this structure.

Like in the conversation result (adc_data.value) for a 12-bit ADC, I'm getting 2900. Is it the parts of 4096? As in, 2900 out 4096 with 4096 representing maximum voltage for a 12-bit ADC.

Yes. The ADC chapter in the reference manual includes a formula for the ADC conversion result.
