Hi,

I have an application in which for safety purposes I'd like to have the watchdog timer monitor the system and reset the uC in case it gets stuck in some part of the code. The system was developed with the help of HalcoGen using FreeRTOS.

How can I program the watchdog timer in Halcogen (I don't find the tab)? Once I achieve that, how is it that I reset it?

Hello,

There is no direct settings from HALCoGen. But you can use APIs in rti.c file, generated by HALCoGen, for controlling DWD.

There is an example in HALCoGen as well. The example is under HALCoGen install folder ( c:\ti\Hercules\HALCoGen\v04.07.01\examples\RM57Lx\example_dwwd.c )

Hello,

I generate the code in Halcogen but I don't see any rti.c file.

As for the example, I've already checked it, but the problem is that it requires the user to enable RTI driver, but in my case I can't: the checkbox in Halcogen is blocked, as you can see in the image.

Is there any reason why it's so?

Hello,

I missed you are using FreeRTOS. HALCoGen does not support RTI settings when using FreeRTOS.

You have to configure the registers where RTI is initialized by yourself.
