To use HET pins as GIO, you have to enable gio driver to generate gio APIs. Then just include reg_het.h in your code.
It is not necessary to call hetInit(). Use GIO APIs to configure/set/clear/read HET pins. As first argument use hetPORT1 (it is defined in reg_het.h)

Would you point me where DEVICE#134 errata is described?

Whether I use hetPORT1->DIN or hetREG1->DIN the result is the same since they point to the same address.

I am not aware with this errata document. Please check you silicon revision and look for its errata here:

Check HETDIR register after init is done to ensure pin is set as input.

The errata was a red herring (as we say, meaning an unrelated issue that appears to be related)

The problem is I am reading pin G3 but the signal is connected to pin B13! The signal on B13 is behaving as expected.

Why are there 2 pins related to N2HET1[19]?

The 337BGA package that you are using has a dedicated input for N2HET1[19], which is B13. This input can be switched to the multiplexed terminal G3 by configuring the IOMM register bit PINMMR8[9] to 1.

Check if this bit is being configured in your pinmux configuration. Once you clear this bit, you should be able to use B13 as an I/O terminal for N2HET1[19].
