SAFETI-HALCOGEN-CSP: will it help users required to comply with RTCA/DO-178C?

Part Number: SAFETI-HALCOGEN-CSP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: HALCOGEN,

Hello,

I am now planning the testing strategy for brand new software that will contain HALCoGen.

The strategy must follow the aviation standard RTCA/DO-178C.

Would SAFETI-HALCOGEN-CSP be useful for DO-178C compliant testing?

Best regards,

Akai

  • Akai-san,

The CSP for HALCoGen provides example documentation as well as unit test capability. As the web page says, the following information is provided.

    • Software Requirement Document
    • Software Architecture Document
    • Software Safety Manual
    • Dynamic Coverage Analysis Report
    • Test Manager report
    • Test results reports
    • Traceability report
    • Software User Guide
    • Software release Notes
    • Test Automation Unit (TAU)

It is up to you to evaluate whether this information is sufficient for DO-178C compliance. We have not done that analysis.

    Regards,

    Sunil

  • Hello Sunil,

What is the test platform that the CSP for HALCoGen can support?

I expect it can support the instruction set simulator in TI's Code Composer Studio IDE because, as far as I know, it is not adequate to execute the compiler-generated object code including the instrumented codes (for code coverage measurement) in the actual MCU device.

    Best regards,

    Akai

  • Akai-san,

CCS does not include an instruction set simulator.

    Regards,

    Sunil
