TM4C1290NCPDT: Question for Tiva I2S

Hi,

I have a customer who wants to use Tiva with I2S interface.

Below application note tells how to emulate I2S with dual-SPI.

In this document, Tiva side is I2S slave and DAC side is master(providing BCLK and WCLK).
Customer wants to use Tiva as master. Is this feasible?

    While I won't say it cannot be done, the main reason that our demo shows the TM4C as an I2S slave is because it would be very difficult for the TM4C device to generate a BCLK and a WCLK at the proper frequencies to be used by the DAC. (Maybe one of our users can post a solution.) 

    I don't know your customer's requirements, but maybe a TMS320C55x DSP with a true I2S interface would be a better fit.
