If the loopback works, the DMA settings and SCI configuration are correct.

1. If you use SCI3 and SCI4 for TX and RX, the signal connection should be SCI3_TX pin <-->SCI4_RX pin, and SCI3_RX pin <--> SCI4_TX pin

2. Disable cache, or use write-through for SRAM

Thanks QJ, yeah I was just trying to run the example sci dam code provided with HALCoGen with loop back disabled

So is it not possible to receive data on SCI4, SCI2, or SCI3?

SCI1 won’t work for my application as I need one of the ports with TTL pins. Can you test receive over SCI4, SCI3, or SCI2 with loopback disabled?

SCI4/SCI2 should work as SCI1. I use Launchpad, SCI4 signals are not routed to the headers. I can test receive over SCI3 and SCI2 tomorrow.

The pin8 and pin 9 of J6are not SCI4 signals.

Pin 8 is: M IB S P I1 N C S _ 1 /M II_ C O L /N 2 H E T 1 _ 1 7 /E Q E P 1 S /1

Pin 9 is: M IB S P I1 N C S _ 2 /M D IO /N 2 H E T 1 _ 1 9

SCI4 TX and SCI4 RX are on J12 - pin 56 and pin 54

I also noticed that it seems SCI4 driver needs to be enabled for the receive over DMA to work, even though I am receiving using SCI2. Any idea why that is?

Hello matthew,

SCI4 and SCI2 are independent. To use SCI2, you don't have to enable SCI4.
