EK-TM4C123GXL: IAR embedded workbench - Fatal error: No debug probe found connected to the usb port

Part Number: EK-TM4C123GXL

Hi,

I've just bought my first launchpad and I've tried to run my first programs on it using IAR workbench, but I can't do it because I get the error mentioned in the title.

I've installed stellaris icdi drivers, but only one appears in device manager, as you can see. Do I need to install anything else? Am I missing something?

The board is conected to my PC, is set to Debug mode and runs just fine the preinstalled program with the color changing LED.

  • It does not look like the ICDI driver was detected. Download this patch and follow the instructions in the file "patch_readme.txt"

    http://software-dl.ti.com/tiva-c/SW-TM4C/latest/exports/SW-TM4C-2.1.4.178.PATCH-1.0.zip

  • Ok, so it looks like I haven't installed Tivaware at all. Now I have done it and I've also installed the patch you gave me, but still only that Stellaris Virtual Serial Port appears in Device Manager and the error keeps popping up.

Do I have to install any other softwares?

Edit: So I've tried the launchpad on another pc and it appeared in devices as it should be. Looks like it may be a problem with my pc? I've tried unintalling all of the drivers and everything, but still when I plug in the board it won't be recognised as a first time install.

Edit2: I've finally done it. I've used a third party app to find and uninstall devices. Found those In-Circuit Debug Interface and deleted them, and then I've plugged in again the board and my PC found them without any problem. I've installed again Tivaware, copied the patch and installed for every device the driver. Now everything works perfectly.

    Thank you.
