Hello Team.
Mu customer has done a design based on our Tiva C, right now he wants to upgrade his HW but to stays in some code environment, he looking to expand his abilities in:
- Greater speed, currently limited to 120MHZ
- Keep LOW POWER still
- Larger SRAM, over 1MB, currently I think TIVA has only 256KB
- Larger FLASH, today up to 1MB
- and preserve most of TIVA's capabilities: UART / I2C / ETHERNET / USB / PWM / LCD
Please advise if TI has something to offer, thanks in advance
Kind regards,
Shai
Hello Shai,
We do not discuss roadmap on the E2E forums, but as far as currently released devices go, if they want to stick with a Cortex M4 core ARM MCU then we do not have current products available that would meet these requirements. They would need to move up to significantly stronger processors like the Sitara class.
The customer should be mindful of tradeoffs though as faster speed will typically increase power consumption. They should prioritize what is important on their search, and also keep in mind for RAM that expanding RAM with SDRAM is an option.
Ralph,
Thank you for inputs, but the Sitara is too big in terms of power consumption.
Kind regards,
Shai
