TM4C1294KCPDT: Ethernet to Optical Converter

Part Number: TM4C1294KCPDT

I have already developed TCP/IP Ethernet RJ-45 Communication Interface using TI Microcontroller P/N: TM4C1294KCPDT.

But now I need to convert this existing RJ-45 interface to optical interface on the same board.

Kindly suggest appropriate IC Based OR PCB Mount Module based solution.

Application scenario block diagram is already enclosed with this thread for your ready reference.

  • Hi Naveen,

At TI we do not have optical modules. Normally, vendors like Finisar they have these optical modules. Please visit Finisar or other vendors such as Finisar for these type of electrical to optical converter modules/

  • (Thought I had clicked upon 'Naveen's post' - evidently not... this post is directed toward Naveen.)

Vendor's Nasser has provided a good guide in your behalf.

May I suggest that your review of the 'leading, commercially available (highly similar) products' - often provides key/critical:

    • design
    • development
    • and special focused components - best able to 'meet your challenging needs.'

Best of all - if you can find a, 'Tear-Down Article' - featuring your sought product (or near sought) - these are rich in source, design & other development issues - almost always, 'Speeding, Easing & Enhancing' your efforts...

It should be noted that such 'High-Speed Optical Design' most always makes stringent demands upon component placement and pcb design.   PCB traces must be extremely: short, direct and free from offending signals and/or noise sources...
