TMS570LC4357: Concerned of processor on TMS570LC4357

Hello,

My target is the TMS570LC4357. I would like to select Third Party Compiler for TMS570LC4357.

For selecting Compiler need to know installation processor on TMS570LC4357.

I already checked the datasheet of my target, and this datasheet discribe that is installed ARM Cortex-R5F on TMS570LC4357.

So, I think that I need to select the compiler is supported ARM Cortex-R5F.

On TMS570LC4357, Are there also installed other processor? ex:coprocessor etc...

Should I consider other information?

Could you please advice me.

Kobori-san,

TMS570LC4357 implements two ARM Cortex-R5F processors in a lock-step configuration. TI also provides a tool chain for this processor. This tool chain is integrated as part of Code Composer Studio IDE. There are many other third party tool vendors that also support this processor e.g. IAR, Green Hills, GCC.

Thank you for your advice and information.

I'm considering Compiler below;

- GCC

- GHS

- TI-C etc...

Let me comfirm, the datasheet for TMS570LC4357 is discribed about N2HET coprocessor. For selecting compiler is not related it, right?

I'm worried that there will need to relate coprocessor for selecting compiler.

Could you please advice me.

Hi Sho,

N2HET is a coprocessor on the TMS570LC4357. However this is a proprietary timing coprocessor, for which TI provides the assembler tool you require. This assembler is available as a standalone tool, or as part of the HET IDE (http://www.ti.com/tool/HET_IDE). You can use the HET IDE to simulate your high-end timer programs.
