TMS570LC4357: ETM/EMIF multiplexed pins

Part Number: TMS570LC4357
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDX570LC43HDK

Hi all,

we are currently designing a board with TMS570LC4357 and external RAM through EMIF. We use the TMDX570LC43HDK's schematic (http://www.ti.com/tool/TMDX570LC43HDK) as a reference.

There are CPU-pins on the TMS570LC4357 which are multiplexed, they can either be ETM[x] or EMIF[x]. On the HDK these CPU-pins are connected to the external RAM and the ETM-MIPI-Connector.

The first 8 bits ETMDATA[0] to ETMDATA[7] are exclusively used for ETM only. So for 8-Bit tracing we wouldn't expect problems. But what happens for 16-bit tracing? In that case no extern SRAM can be used, is that correct?

Best Regards,

Juergen
