Need support to design 2.5 kW Power rating charger

Hello everyone, I am a Master student, currently working on the design of 2.5KW power charger. I need support (schematic diagram) to complete my project.

any leads will be appreciated.

Thanks

  • HI Mukul,

The TI BMS group does not have products that support chargers with that high of power.  I suggest you search through http://www.ti.com/reference-designs/index.html for multi-chip reference designs that charge.

    Regards,

    Jeff

If you are provided a reasonably complete schematic diagram - from (another) - may it be asked,  'How this constitutes (at all) 'Your Project?'    (such is fairly asked - is it not?)

On perhaps a, 'More important note' - such a 2KW5  Charging System may produce potentially 'dangerous  conditions' - generated by (both) the electronics and (especially) multiple, charging batteries!    (especially if those are Li-Ion (or similar) in nature.)     Great  'Understanding - and CAUTIONS' - must be 'Well Known & Enforced at ALL Times' - and (neither) is likely to arrive along w/'another's schematic!'

Should those 'candidate batteries for charging' be 'Lithium' based (especially Li-Ion) either:

    • slight over-voltage while charging
    • improper and/or slowed  'temperature measurement/monitoring of  'each/every'  charging cell'

is known to potentially generate 'run-away' (dangerous) battery heat and if especially unlucky - lead to an explosion.     Chargers of such magnitude should be developed & operated with great care & caution - by those w/sufficient 'Practice & Expertise' w/in the art - and w/ALL Safety Protocols well established & in place.

If the 'Master Student's development of his own schematic' has been (apparently) much abbreviated - is there (any) chance that the 'probing for all pertinent Safety Protocols & Precautions' - has been fully/properly investigated?
