TM4C129ENCPDT: TivaWare license

Part Number: TM4C129ENCPDT
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3100

In the manifest.txt file for TivaWare 2.1.4.178, there are multiple component references to a TI Commercial License.  For example:

Software Name: MQTT Library
Version: 1.1.0
License Type: TI Commercial
Delivered As: Source
Modified by TI: N/A
Location: ./cc3100-sdk/netapps/mqtt
Obtained From: TI

Q: Are these all the same commercial license, or are there multiple, different licenses?  If multiple, how do we determine which license goes with which component?

Q: Where can the commercial license(s) be found?

Q: Are there any specific distribution rights, limitations or restrictions for the different TI commercial licenses OR do they all have the same terms?

Thank you,

David

  • Hi Dave,

I think the mqtt is part of the cc3100 sdk which is governed by the same license.

I tried to install the CC3100 SDK and below is the license agreement. Can you try the same. The CC3100 SDK can be downloaded from http://www.ti.com/tool/download/CC3100SDK

The TI Commercial License terms are defined with in the clickwrap licensing agreement that is part of the TivaWare Installation process.

The clickwrap licensing terms when installing TivaWare will apply for each and every element within the TivaWare Manifest table that are stated to be TI Commercial license.

There are no differences in terms of specific distribution rights for TivaWare licensing. All components in TivaWare under TI commercial are subject to identical terms.

However, the licensing terms for TI Commercial can be set by each individual business for their devices and also may get updated over time as the legal landscape shifts, so it should not be assumed the same distribution rights for TivaWare apply to other TI software that uses a TI commercial license. Now, in general all BU's use the exact same license that is provided by our licensing team without modification, but I just can't say that it will always be 100% the same.
