Tool/software: Code Composer Studio
All, this is more a source of confusion than a showstopper. The "Out of the Box Demo"
binary provided for download as part of the Getting Started introduction to the LAUNCHXL2 RM46, doe not match the source code for the project.
Specifically the source code found at
is significantly difference (and in the case of the light-sensor diode display, the flash frequency is reversed). The text displayed on the console output by the binary does not match the source code, and the operation of the USER1 button does not match between the binary provided and the source code. (the binary increases the flash frequency until the USER1 button is pressed for the 6th time, and then ERR LED is set), the source code increases the frequency and never sets the ERR LED, the diode is simply stuck on until a PORRST is performed.
The obvious cause is there were changes made to the source code on the TI git repository, but the binary remains based on the original code. All things being equal, the original code that matches the binary would be a lot more straight-forward then the updated git source. The TI git site is down right now or I would see if the commit history is available that would provide access to the original source.
However, I thought I would pass along the binary/source mismatch as given that the source work opposite to how the Project_1 binary does -- it's likely to be a source of confusion for others as well.
