CCS/TMS570LC4357: All LEDs start flashing when plugged in 12V power supply

Hello,

My problem is that all LEDs on my board start flashing when I plug in power. For example, the four blue LEDs on the top right corner which indicate the power status. Therefore, when I trying to debug, the error: "detected power loss" prevent me from running the codes. My board is from Hercules Safety MCU Development Kit TMS570 MCU. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

I think a hardware failure is the reason for this. Did you try with replacing the power adapter that comes wit HDK?

Hello,

Yes, I have tried replacing the power adapter since we have bought four of these boards. But the problem is still there.

Hello,

I suppose one (or more) of the onboard Voltage regulators is damaged.

Hello Miro,

If that's the case, is it possible to replace the damaged regulators? Since we have purchase four of these boards, and two of them have showed similar problems. And the warranty is only 6-month, our boards are no longer covered. If you think it is possible, we can try to place on our side with your instruction and help. Thank you for your reply.

Hello,

You have to investigate which component is causing this behavior. You should try to isolate the power rails. For example you can start with isolating VCC_12V. It is possible that some other damaged component is causing this behavior as well.

You can contact your local TI sales representative / distributor to check about such a service.
