TM4C129ENCZAD: Ethernet Failure

Part Number: TM4C129ENCZAD

My customer has gotten several units where the ethernet has failed. They're using a TM4C129ENCZADT3 with Pulse Electronics HX1188NLT magnetics. Only the ethernet section of the IC seems to be affected - the part seems to be running normally otherwise. One strange aspect is that the failure doesn't present itself immediately. In some cases it was about 5 months, which leads them to believe it is not PoE related, but it's the major difference between this use case and others.

This particular use case has a PoE router that the devices are connected to. The device needs to request power from the PoE source in order for there to be voltage present on the wires. Do you know of any issues where PoE could be damaging the TIVA? If it is unrelated to PoE, can you think of any other cause for the ethernet failure?
