CC430F5137: Can I program device without going through CCS?

We currently program a CC430F5137 device with CCS 6.2 and an MSP/FET programmer. I have some questions.

How can I program the device without going through CCS? I see the .out file under the Debug directory, but I don't see a .hex file anywhere.
I would like to program Flash Memory Segment A separately with a device specific Serial Number. How can I do that?

I have both TI's LM Flash Programmer and Flash Programmer 2 software on my laptop, but I have not used them with this device.

Hi Chuck,

Thanks for your post. You can learn how enable the TI-TXT hex format in CCS by checking out the following thread.

CCS/MSP430F1121: Generating TI.TXT file with MSP430-GCC in CCSv8

After building the hex image in CCS and assuming you know exactly which address for the device-specific serial number, you can manually change that in the TI-TXT file before programming each device.

Now, you can use your MSP-FET programmer with either UniFlash or the FET-Pro430 Lite software to program the TI-TXT file onto the device. For production programming, you could use MSP-GANG. If you order a new MSP-FET, please keep in mind that it may not work with older CCS versions including v6.2. Please refer to the following thread for more information.
