TMS570LS3137: Parity bits location in MIBSPI

The odd or even parity bit can be added at the end of a data word. If a received parity bit does not match with the locally calculated parity bit, the parity error flag(PARITYERR) is set and an interrupt is asserted (if enabled).

Setting PARITYENA in SPIFMT enable the parity.

If the controller is the receiver receiving data from external source ( assuming that the parity is not considered by the transmitter), how does the receiver knows that the parity is not considered before calculating the parity bit locally?

The master and slave should have the same settings for data word length, parity enabled/disabled.
