LAUNCHXL2-570LC43: The query is related whether I can integrate LAUNCHXL2-570LC43 and AWR1243

Part Number: LAUNCHXL2-570LC43
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1243, AWR1243BOOST, LAUNCHXL2-TMS57012

I have Two TI boards in my institution, AWR1243 and  LAUNCHXL2-570LC43. The query is related whether I can integrate these two boards and use it as Long range radar Applications. If I can integrate then how to do it. Its been 3 years that we have bought the board and still no one is able to work on it. I kindly request you to give the suggestion whether is it possible to integrate it or not.

  • HI Pradeepth,

AWR1243 is RF front end only board, it senses the scene and gives you raw ADC data over CSI-2/LVDS interface. Now you need capable external processor connected to AWR1243 which first configures the device over SPI and read ADC data over CSI-2 or LVDS interface.

So effectively you need at least SPI and CSI/LVDS interface on a selected external processor. I'm afraid that the selected Hercules board doesn't have CSI/LVDS to capture the data although you can use this board to configure the device over SPI.

mmWave DFP provides a reference application where it configures AWR1243 device from PC over SPI using on-board USB-SPI converter (FTDI).

Please refer FAQ (Q1) to find more detail about this.

  • Hi Jitendra

Can you tell me the board that I can work with AWR1243 Booster for Long range radar applications.

  • Hi Pradeepth,

You can use TDA2x/3x development board which can connect with AWR1243BOOST.

  • Hi Pradeepth,

AWR1243BOOST uses a standard boosterpack header definition. Please review its user guide and then review the schematic for LAUNCHXL2-TMS57012 or LAUNCHXL2-570LC43 to identify the connections.

The CSI/LVDS connections are on a separate header on the AWR1243BOOST.
