TM4C1294NCPDT: XDS110 - Broken Path Error

Part Number: TM4C1294NCPDT
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: EK-TM4C1294XL

I have a custom board which has exactly same JTAG 10 pin programming connector as the evaluation board EK-TM4c1294XL.

My XDS110 USB works fine with EK-TM4c1294XL. However it gives error as below with the custom board. I have verified +3.3 V and other connections on the 10 pin connector and all are good.

Please help me to understand and resolve the issue.

Thanks in advance.

Satish

This error is generated by TI's USCIF driver or utilities.

The value is '-233' (0xffffff17).
The title is 'SC_ERR_PATH_BROKEN'.

The explanation is:
The JTAG IR and DR scan-paths cannot circulate bits, they may be broken.
An attempt to scan the JTAG scan-path has failed.
The target's JTAG scan-path appears to be broken
with a stuck-at-ones or stuck-at-zero fault.

  • Hello Satish,

A SC_ERR_PATH_BROKEN error generally is a hardware issue.

Can you post the schematic you used for JTAG connector?

Also can you verify that you have the correct orientation used when plugging into the board?

You may also want to try a JTAG Integrity Scan with CCS to see if it provides any further feedback about the issue.
