TMS570LS3137: Maximum allowable drift frequency

Part Number: TMS570LS3137

Hello Guys,

Good day.

Our customer is looking for the maximum frequency drift  (due to stability or aging issues) allowed for TMS5703137DZWTQQ1 when the clock of 20MHz is input to OSCIN? Is some kind of data or similar available for this device?

Thanks in advance!

  • Hello Art,

There is no specification for frequency drift of the clock input. TMS570 devices has a LPO Clock Detect module. In case of the OSCIN frequency falls out of a frequency window, the detect monitor flags the condition in global status register and switches all the clock domain sources from OSCIN to HFLPO.

The valid OSCIN frequency range is defined as: fHFLPO / 4 < fOSCIN < fHFLPO * 4.

If OSCIN > 22MHz or OSCIN<4.875MHz, it might cause failure.

  • Hello QJ Wang,

Thanks for the detailed response on this!
