ADS86xx EVM GUI

Hi. I have one of your evaluation boards, specifically ADS86xx EVM. I have tried to install the accompanying GUI from the board on 2 different laptops but I am unable to do so. During the installation process, I get the following 2 errors:

"NI LabVIEW Run-Time Engine 2010 SP1:

Error 1335. The cabinet file ‘lvrte.cab’ required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package."

"NI Measurement Studio ComponentWorks 3D Graph:

The cabinet file ‘MStudioCW3DGraph.cab’ required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package."

When I click ignore, the installation process continues but ultimately fails. When I then try to open the GUI using the icon on my desktop, I get the following error:

"Unable to locate the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine:

ADS86XX EVM GUI requires a version 2010 (or compatible) LabVIEW Run-Time Engine. Please contact the vendor of ADS86XX EVM GUI to correct this problem."

Hello David,

Would you please be more specific which EVM you are using. we have more than one EVM that could be considered an ADS86XX EVM.

A link to the EVM you are using is fine. This will help to also solve the GUI issue.

What version of windows are you using? Do you have admin rights? or can you run as admin.

Hi,

I was given this board by another colleague and that's what it says on the board. Where can I find the exact model?

I am using Windows 7 Professional and yes, I have admin rights.

Hi,

Just noticed a section on the board that says the following:

Installed Device:

ADS8688

ADS8678

ADS8668

ADS8688A

ADS8698

There is a red mark next to ADS8698 while only white ones next to the others so I assume it is ADS8698?

Hello,

Yes, you likely have ADS8698 EVM

I tried to go through the install process myself, and I am also getting an error, though not the same

I wonder if changes in the background broke the installer.

Let me look into this and I will get back to you.
