TM4C1294NCPDT: New PinMux tool

Hi Team,

Inan old design the pining has been defined with TIVA C Series PinMux utility.exe (date seems to be 2014). This software is not working on customers PC

They have downloaded new 4.0.1543 version. This one is running.

However, the format of the earlier design file (.pin) does not work with the new tool anymore.

They now tried to edit the earlier design in the new tool but there was a surprise:

Datasheet is saying

PK4 - 63 - I2C3SCL

PK5 - 62 - I2C3SDA

But the new tool says:

SCL(I2C3SCL) - 62/PK4

SDA (I2C3SCL) - 61/PK5

Regards

Andreas

  • Hi Andreas,

      I just downloaded the 4.0.1543. I selected I2C3 and it shows as 63 and 62 for i2C3SCL and I2C3SDA.

  • Greetings,

Charles has achieved correct results - thus the new tool appears to be performing properly.

Unexplained is, "How & Why" your customer's PC produces 'errant results.'

    Might they result from:

    • incomplete removal of any/all (old/earlier) versions of the PinMux Tool   (possible unwanted/unexpected "interaction!")
    • errant entry of the (full) TM4C part number   (that 5 char 'suffix' IS lengthy)
    • possible "incompatibility" between the new PinMux Tool & customer's PC and/or WIN version   (employ another PC)

It would prove interesting if customer enforced this procedure & "Tried Again."

  • I saw similar issues using Google Chrome with C2000 PinMux tool. So dislike the heated race to inject cloud tools among all web browsers.
