Arm Cortex Development Board that supports uPython

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3200, EK-TM4C1294XL

Hi Team,

A customer asked if it is possible to port uPython in any of our ARM Cortex development board. If possible, can you recommend the board that can support uPhyton?

Regards,

Danilo

  • Hello Danilo,

It should be possible yes. We haven't done any activity on that end for TM4C and I don't believe MSP432 has done so for their SDK since the latest information they offered on the topic: https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/msp430/f/166/p/812312/3006410#3006410

Looks like the CC3200 already has support. If it is capable, surely TM4C is as well.

I would recommend our TM4C129x family so the customer has plenty of Flash space available so the development board would be the EK-TM4C1294XL LaunchPad.

At this time, we do not have plans to make a port for the TM4C as this is the first request we have received for such capability. If the customer is successful and adds to the github, let us know.

  • µPython Greetings,

A "Non-Competing, Non-Semi Firm" has (substantially) completed such a development board.   (Staff would have to check to see if one of (your firm's) ARM Cortex MCUs was chosen.)

Similar forum posts by our group - deemed clearly as "helpful" - have been, "Cast to the curb!"    Follow-up via the Forum's "PM" mode is our preferred, "Method of Data/Idea Exchange."

May it be noted that this TI poster has not responded to his request for guidance - answered yesterday by (both) my group & vendor's Ralph.    We have - moments ago - added an important advantage to our closing post (w/in that thread) - achieved ONLY via our (proven correct) "Dual Mode PWM" solution.    And in fact - µPython is well enabled to "exploit that unique capability!"

  • Hi Ralph and cb1_mobile,

    Thanks to your support.
