Hello,

I have a problem with my 2 TMS570LC4357 launchpads (LAUNCHXL2-570LC43). We can not load the program to board(last week I used one of them for only some basic codes,another one was not used,But this week both of them does not work).

We tried to load program and erase memory via Uniflash and generally came across the errors like "module closed", "can not load" ,DAP error".

A small moment after powering on board we can read the memory and R5-cortex is shown as "running".But after it turns into R5-cortex:suspending and we can not erase memory,even can not read memory,

We tried to change Tclk frequency, using another card,cables,external Jtag ,segger,etc. Also tried to connect to board step by step such as first connect to ICEPİCK,then connect to DAP, then to the board. But there is no difference. I suspect that the processor has locked because of its security module.

If you have any idea,please share with me. I have no idea how I search to get rid of this problem. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I have the same suspicion as yours - the Debug Probe is being fooled into thinking it is correctly connected to the device.

The first verification would be to use the Target Status view to see if the core is properly powered and out of reset. This is what I see when connecting to the DAP of my LAUNCHXL2-570LC43

I am not very familiar with the security mechanism of the TMS570LC4357 device, thus I will have to check with the device experts how to workaround this.

Hello,

You are able to connect to the target through the JTAG, so there is no JTAG security issue.

Can you please post your uniflash settings for loading the image to flash? What kind of code has been programmed to the flash?

Hello,

Yes, a small moment after powering on board, I can read the memory.Therefore I also think there is no problem on JTAG. But after trying to erase memory,"the target is not connected " error is showed. Besides, when I click the button "profile data on Target" in Uniflash, "Auto ECC generation cannot be enabled when doing a flash profiling" error is showed.

The codes that I programmed was very simple such as blinking led etc.

Do you think if the processor has broken? Thanks in advance.

Hello,

This is also one of the views which I came across. It generally showed the DAP error. But I tried to connect all cores step by step, same problem in the image you shared appeared.

By the way,Thanks for the thread. I am also not familiar with TI boards but If I find any solution,I will share here.

Hello,

Can you try the following procedure for JTAG connection:

Open the target configuration window, and launch the selected the configuration
Switch to debug window
Press the reset (nRST) button and hold it
Click “Connect Target” immediately after you release the nRST button
The board should be connected after couple tries

Hello,

DAP and ICEPICK is connected. But cortex R5 can not be connected exactly.

hello,

Your first and 2nd screenshots show that XDS2x USB emulator is used, buy the memory browser window shows the emulator is xds110. Can you please use xds110 for flash programming?

The TMS570LC43x launchpad has xds110 built-in emulator. How do you connect XDS2x emulator to the launchpad? By default, the J18 is not populated.

I used external jtag and power source. But when I tried to use xds110, it shows same output.

I have just noticed that 2 TMS570LC4357 stoped different address of memory, when I applied the instructions you said to 2 launchpad .

One of them stoped at 0x25bc,other stopped at 0x0000318c. But 2 address has same value "E1100C11 tst r0 ,r1 , ls1, r12".

Can it be important point to understand why runnining has stoped?

Please post your code, or let me know the c function() at 0x25bc or at 0x318c.
